Google TV brings the web into the living room

Google and Intel have teamed up with Sony to develop a new generation of televisions and set-top boxes under the title Google TV. The new platform, which is reportedly based on Google’s Android platform and runs on Intel Atom chips, will aim to make it easier for people to access web application from their TV set, making accessing social networks, online games and video sharing sites as straightforward as switching the channel
