BBC improves search engine visibility

The BBC has changed the way it titles its stories in a bid to greater appease the search engines that bring much of its traffic to its pages. It is among a host of news agencies who now practise search engine optimisation in order to increase web presence. News editor Steve Herrmann says the decision is based on the vast number of visitors the site gets from the likes of search engines Google and Bing, stating that around 29% of the UK traffic comes through search engines

Changes to Google video search results

Google has slightly changed the way it displays video results with Universal search. More pages containing video - which were previously displayed as a normal search results - are now being displayed as video search results. Google Street View has changed the way many of us get around, from letting us plan out a journey before getting behind the wheel to finding an unknown destination with ease to taking virtual tours of a city we could only dream of visiting outside work hours. However, it has its pitfalls, and the inclusion of hard to get to locations is one of them.
