Google celebrates five years of IPO

On August 14, 2004, Google went public on NASDAQ with an initial offering of $85 a share. And as Paul R. La Monica on CNN Money points out, if you were able to get in on this initial IPO offering, you are probably a very happy person today. That’s because today the stock trades at about $445 a share, a 420 percent gain during a time period when the NASDAQ has only gone up eight percent.

Google Users More Active and Devoted than Microsoft/Yahoo Users

Google users are more loyal and conduct more searches than Yahoo! and Microsoft searchers combined, according to new data from ComScore. Although the new duo experienced a combined search penetration of 73 percent, Google continues to remain on top with 84 percent of the overall search market.
