Finally… Google Analytics to Provide Real-Time Reporting

Like millions of other website owners, I use Google Analytics to analyze my website stats. And while I actually like GA a lot, it isn’t perfect. My biggest pet-peeve with the software is the fact it doesn’t provide real-time results. It has a lag time of at least an hour or two before you can view most of your data, and a full 24-hour lag time on full data reporting. With all the brilliant engineers Google employs, that particular flaw has never made any logical sense to me. That negative aspect of GA has been bugging the heck out of me for years. Google Offers Opt-Out of Analytics Tracking

Google announced yesterday the beta version of a new opt-out for Google Analytics, making it possible for users to stop being tracked by Google Analytics and have their information included in its reports.

Judge Slaps Permanent Injunction on ISOHunt Search Engine

PC World reports that a U.S. District Court judge has issued a permanent injunction against ISOHunt, which has become one of the most popular sites for searching for BitTorrent content. Judge Stephen V. Wilson ordered ISOHunt to prevent access to copyright protected content such as movies, TV shows and music recordings and threatened to hold ISOHunt founder Garry Fung in contempt of court and sentence him to jail time if the site does not comply.

Yahoo! and Nokia Strike an Alliance

Google Dominates Search Engine Usage in Competitors’ Hometowns

Even in Microsoft’s back yard, Google still reigns as the top search engine. That’s what the Seattle Press-Intelligencer reports that recent findings by ad network Chitka suggest, as they found that Google represents 79 percent of all search engine usage in Redmond, Washington, home to the corporate headquarters of Microsoft. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Bing search engine accounted for 16 percent of all search engine usage – almost four times more than the national average but still far below that of Google.
