November 8, 2011 by creative · Leave a Comment

Newcomer Google+ has invited businesses onto its social networking site, giving brands a new opportunity to ‘build relationships’ online. Product Management Director for Google+ Pages Dennis Troper wrote in a blog post : “Since the initial launch of Google+ just a few months ago, we’ve welcomed over 40 million people and introduced more than 100 new features. For all these people, one important part is still missing – your business.” While corporate profiles have become an important fabric in other social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, until now Google+ has restricted access for business, focusing its attention on developing its social network as a consumer service. “So far Google+ has focused on connecting people with other people. But we want to make sure you can build relationships with all the things you care about – from local businesses to global brands – so today we’re rolling out Google + Pages worldwide,” Troper said. Businesses will now be able to share information about themselves with other G+ users, and make use of features such as circles and hangouts to interact with customers.

Social media marketing has many myths and untruths surrounding it, usually spread by people who have no knowledge whatsoever of social media marketing and how it works. These are some of the most common myths that abound, and some possible responses to use when faced with them. Some companies do not use social media at all, yet they profess to have the knowledge of their customers’ social media habits. The best way to find out if customers are on a social network is to join it and upload the customer email list. If no one is truly on there, the company can avoid it and never use it again. But if at least 20% of the list is on the network, the company should use that network and engage in social media marketing

Blog Management – Go Blog Wild

September 9, 2011 by publisher · Leave a Comment

Maintaining a blog is about much more than simply presenting the latest news in the life of a person or a brand. A good blog is about conveying the writer’s personality and interests to his audience. To that end, the comments section should be one of the liveliest parts of a blog. In addition, there should be an array of links available to promote similar or interesting sites for the readers, and the content should be on-topic and creative. One of the most interesting things about the web is the ease with which people can organize events. Flash mobs are a great example of this: A quick handful of tweets or SMS messages, and kids show up at a public school to perform an elaborate dance routine in protest against bullying.
