3 Reasons Why Viewers Hate Your Online Videos – A SPN Exclusive Article

January 19, 2012 by publisher · Leave a Comment

Online video marketing – it’s the latest and greatest addition to internet marketing. If you create your online videos the right way, viewers will get excited about your products and services – and, more importantly, they’ll think of you as an expert in your niche. But if you create your online videos the wrong way, they’ll do the exact opposite! Sadly, far too many of the online videos out there fall into the second category. So, why do viewers hate your online videos? And what can you do to make them better? 1. Because the Background is Distracting No one wants to see the clutter on your desk, the drawing your kid made in school (no matter how cute it may be!), or sunlight streaming through the window that’s blinding everyone who’s trying to look at you.

Kindle fire selling well … possibly

December 2, 2011 by admin · Leave a Comment

Amazon may have already sold millions of units of its new Kindle Fire tablet. However, no one knows for sure, and despite asserting that the Kindle Fire is the best-selling item on Amazon.com, the retail giant is keeping quiet about the number of units it’s actually sold. “Even before the busy holiday shopping weekend, we’ve already sold millions of the new Kindle family and the Kindle Fire was the bestselling product across all of Amazon.com,” Kindle VP Dave Limp said in a press release . “Black Friday was the best ever for the Kindle family – customers purchased 4x as many Kindle devices as they did last Black Friday – and last year was a great year. “In addition, we’re seeing a lot of customers buying multiple Kindles – one for themselves and others as gifts.” In the absence of information, market researcher eData Source has been tracking sales of the new iPad rival and has released an estimate of how well the tablet is selling

Chrome closes in on Firefox

December 1, 2011 by publisher · Leave a Comment

Chrome may soon have the upper hand in the browser wars, as the Mountain View browser closes in on Mozilla’s Firefox. According to Net Applications latest worldwide browser usage measurements, Chrome is only 4 per cent behind Firefox – which dropped in popularity by 2 per cent since January. Stiff competition from both Internet Explorer and Chrome have caused the popular browser’s numbers to flag this year – Firefox numbers slipped 0.4 per cent while Chrome inched forward 0.7 per cent. Firefox and Chrome now account for 22.1 per cent and 18.2 per cent respectively – compared to Internet Explorer which holds a clear lead with more than 50 per cent of the browser market under its belt. “Firefox once was the prime challenger to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, which for years languished in the doldrums of software development.

Spotify gets appy

December 1, 2011 by admin · Leave a Comment

Popular music streaming service Spotify has taken the next step towards total world domination, announcing the addition of music-based apps to their platform. The free apps can be accessed by users through ‘App Finder’, and are designed to be fully integrated with Spotify to enhance user experience. “Once you take a look, you’ll see why we believe this is truly the beginning of something game-changing for digital music,” Spotify founder Daniel Ek said. “We think this will lead to integrations that keep Spotify beautiful and simple, but layer in great musical experiences designed to be social and fun. It’s what our users have been looking for.” The company has teamed up with 13 global partners for the launch of the app service – including Billboard, Fuse, The Guardian, and Rolling Stone to name a few. Users can do everything from checking show listings of bands on their playlists, to looking up lyrics of songs as they stream. “Our integration with Facebook in September has made more people than ever excited about sharing music again, adding more than 7 million new Spotify users in just over two months,” the company said in a press statement . As part of the new service, Spotify has also invited developers to get involved and build music-based apps for the service – currently, Spotify Apps features 16 partner apps, with more to come as the program develops. “With the Spotify Platform, we want to enable innovation on top of music and add many more layers of music enjoyment.

3 Things Your SEO Articles Should Be Doing For You – A SPN Exclusive Article

November 8, 2011 by creative · Leave a Comment

If you’re like me, you probably spend a big part of your time searching for things online and being amazed at some of the SEO articles that pop up. And, if you’re like me, you probably wonder how these “authors” expect you to take their poorly-spun, uninteresting, fluffy “article” seriously! Remember, writing SEO articles isn’t about “churning out” as many as possible, as quickly as you can. After all, bad SEO articles do serious damage to your credibility – and, ultimately, your bottom line. Instead, you need to look at SEO articles as a tool that helps you build a brand, helps you market your business, and helps you set yourself apart from the competition. When used correctly, SEO articles actually do a lot of work FOR you. If you’re writing SEO articles properly (or paying someone to write them for you), the finished product should be doing these 3 things for you: 1. Establishing You as an Expert When people get to the end of your SEO articles, they should say “wow!” They should be chomping at the bit to visit your website to see what other kind of gems you have to offer, or to learn more about your products and services. They should see you as a “somebody”, instead of like all the “wannabes” out there who just want to make a quick buck off them. Remember, people look for all kinds of reasons NOT to spend their hard-earned money

Herding Cats with WordPress Plug-ins

October 28, 2011 by creative · Leave a Comment

Yippee! Open Source Software! We love it! Really? I’m not a tech guy nor do I play one on TV, but all the hype about how WordPress and other similar stuff makes your life easy is overestimated, at best. My latest escapade into herding cats is trying to manage the zillion plug-ins I have running on my site by myself. Kill me now, but outsourcing is for me. Plug-in Fever I’ve developed a website that has plug-ins, those little bolt on attachments all created by various authors and revised at different times, coming out of the wood work! I have plug-ins for… * affiliate ad postings * similar blog posts * social media icons * e-commerce * SEO * form generation * spam avoidance * popups * columns That’s just to list a few.

Finally… Google Analytics to Provide Real-Time Reporting

October 12, 2011 by creative · Leave a Comment

Like millions of other website owners, I use Google Analytics to analyze my website stats. And while I actually like GA a lot, it isn’t perfect. My biggest pet-peeve with the software is the fact it doesn’t provide real-time results. It has a lag time of at least an hour or two before you can view most of your data, and a full 24-hour lag time on full data reporting. With all the brilliant engineers Google employs, that particular flaw has never made any logical sense to me. That negative aspect of GA has been bugging the heck out of me for years. Well, finally, that’s all about to change and fast. How fast

Facebook flushes away competing concerns

September 12, 2011 by creative · Leave a Comment

Adults living in Britain would rather live without a toilet than Facebook, a study recently found. Carried out in conjunction with its exhibition ‘Water Wars: Fight the Food Crisis’, the London Science Museum asked participants to rank the things they couldn’t live without. Exhibition manager Sarah Richardson described the results from the survey as “crazy”. “To say you can’t live without material things over drinking water is crazy. It seems having fresh drinking water is something that many of us take for granted,” she told The Daily Mail . The survey intended to demonstrate how important clean drinking water is, but when the results came in, there were some curious findings.
