Vegas in your Pocket: Real money casino games now available on iPhone
July 26, 2010 by publisher · Leave a Comment
Probability, a Calgary based mobile gaming company has released the first iPhone app allowing players to gamble with real money on their iPhone and iPhone Touch. Players who download the LadyLucks.co.uk casino app can now play blackjack, roulette or slots for real money with the help of an app on their iPhone or iPod touch. Although not an ‘official’ app, it works by directing mobile users to download the software onto their handsets so they can then play through their browser. They then have the option to add the page to the home screen of their iPhone, much like a regular app. The reason it is not a fully fledged app is that gambling games are currently unavailable through the official Apple App Store. Probability are instead choosing to market their app through AdMob - one of the biggest mobile advertising networks. This is an interesting move that could pave the way for other competitors in the gambling sector to market their apps without having to wait for approval from Apple. So, what does the introduction of a casino app for mobile devices tell us about the increase in mobile internet usage and the future of the gambling industry?

26 Small Business Websites You Can Trust
April 27, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
With so many scams and rip-offs prevalent on the Internet, I decided to compile a list of small business websites you could actually trust and rely on. In order to compile my list, I surveyed hundreds of small business owners, and asked them which small business services they used, trusted and would recommend to others. Whichever company received the most votes in each category are the companies you see listed here. I had two main criteria for a website to make my list: Proof of Customer Satisfaction. The service had to have legitimate, verifiable customer testimonials. If I couldn’t verify the testimonials, the website was disqualified. It’s that simple. Stability.

What Marketing Do You REALLY Need Right Now?

Many small business owners I talk to always seem to be playing catch up when it comes to their marketing. Last week when I told a small business owner that she was doing a good job with her marketing, she replied “Oh, but I have so much to do!” in an apologetic tone. So I asked her, “What is it that you have to do?” “Well,” she said, “I need to redo my website, write a new brochure, update my Facebook page, and call clients whom I haven’t seen for a while. “I’m also wondering, do I need to get a Twitter account and do I need to have a blog AND a website?” Listening to her I felt sad. I mean who the heck laid down these requirements that a small business has to have so much in place so fast? It Wasn’t Always This Way 100 years ago: before there were computers or radio or TV or desktop publishing, the requirements for being ready for business were simple and concrete

Google may be the undisputed leader of the search engine market , but new evidence reveals that it still falls down to competitor Yahoo! when it comes to financial news. The New York Times reports that internet users searching for financial information are 17.5 times more likely to visit Yahoo! Finance than the Google alternative. Yahoo! Finance has held the top spot in its field for 19 consecutive months, and boasted 21.7 million unique visitors from the United States in July, compared to only 1.2 million visiting direct competitor Google Finance in the same month.
