Google’s First Page… Guaranteed! – A SPN Exclusive Article
January 18, 2012 by admin · Leave a Comment
A couple of weeks ago, I visited one of the Internet Marketing/Small Business forums that I’m a member of, and noticed a new member had posted a typical newbie question in the SEO forum. The member wanted to know how she could be guaranteed to get her website on the first page of Google. As usual, members came crawling out of the woodwork with advice – including members who didn’t even own a website. Unfortunately, that’s pretty typical on Internet Marketing/Small Business forums… members who don’t own a website instructing other members how to get on the first page of Google… members who don’t own a business dispensing business advice. So be careful where you get your advice from… but I digress. Not surprisingly, not a single member responded with the correct answer. And what is the correct answer? The correct answer is there is NO magic bullet that will assure a first page ranking on Google. Never has been, never will be.

Build An Unstoppable Online Business

There is one single truth to understand if you want to succeed in your business. “Success is built with others!” If there is one thing I realized from day one, it was this: “I could not do it alone”. Why? Because I didn’t know everything (and I still don’t), because I didn’t want to waste money learning everything to start with then only getting results a couple of years later, because I wanted to identify an easier path for me. We all need help at different levels, but you must be strategic about it otherwise you may very well lose yourself, your time and all your money getting help where you don’t really need it at a particular time. And it all boils down to 3 questions: 1. What do you want with regards to your business?

Educating Your Visitors – The Power of Giving and User-Friendly Websites – A SPN Exclusive Article

I’ve been involved in sales and marketing for over twenty years – half my adult life. And sometimes I still get confused when I browse the Internet and visit websites searching for information, or to make a purchase. I’m absolutely amazed at how complicated some marketers make doing business online. Let’s talk about searching for information for a moment. After all, most people go online not to buy anything, but rather to search for information to solve a problem they have. Knowing this is important, because if you understand that the Internet is driven by information and information seekers, as a marketer, you can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. 1. You can provide information seekers with the information they’re looking for. 2.

Tebowing Your Small Business: Clutch Performance
January 6, 2012 by publisher · Leave a Comment
The craze sweeping the nation this winter season comes from the NFL. Of course I’m talking about Tebowing, originated by Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, and you either love him or hate him. Purging religious beliefs from the equation, Tim Tebow along with the Broncos have strung together a series of impressive comebacks before recently bowing to the superior Brady Bunch and the Patriots. Denver was left for dead on multiple occasions through three quarters plus in games, only to rise up like Lazarus to overcome the football Reaper and stand in victory. Is there a management lesson in this over-hyped story for small company owners, executives and corporate officers? Tebow’s type of play has been derided as unsustainable, tagged as downright ugly, and parodied on Saturday Night Live. It’s also been applauded by evangelicals, adopted by presidential candidates, and embraced by middle-America. Yet the most exceptional thing that this phenomenon demonstrates is clutch behavior, doing your best when it’s all on the line, and it has been on display in sports throughout the decades in names like Reggie, Jordan, Montana and Gretsky

Mobile Payments Vs. Mobile POS Payments Race Is On! – A SPN Exclusive Article
December 14, 2011 by publisher · Leave a Comment
Can Anyone Catch Square With Their $4 Billion + a Month Head Start? The answer probably lies somewhere between PayPal and another mobile POS payment solution. If you’re the owner or manager of a small to medium sized business, a key part of our national economic engine, then you recognize the importance of mobile and using today’s technology; and you want to utilize it and capitalize on the opportunity that it presents, however you’re not quite clear on a few things. You’ve tried PayPal sometime back and you were astonished at what you found out. In order to use PayPal you must first accept their terms of service. By doing so, you in effect waive your rights to credit card consumer protection laws and you acknowledge that you cannot issue a chargeback for unauthorized use of your credit card and PayPal account. If you do, they have the right to limit your account.

Microsoft gets in on the app action
December 8, 2011 by admin · Leave a Comment
Microsoft is looking to get in on the app action, taking on Apple and Google with the launch of their own “app store.” The Windows Store is slated for a late February opening along with the release of a test version of Microsoft’s next generation Windows 8 operating system. “I think we are going to do great,” Windows Web Services vice president Antoine Leblond said. “The reach of Windows is absolutely huge and can’t be matched.” To date, Windows has only had a small presence on smartphones and tablets, where the majority of third-party applications are bought. As a result, applications written for the Windows Store will work on any devices powered by the Microsoft Software – allowing them to be downloaded to smartphones and tablet devices as soon as they become available on the market. Additionally, the Windows Store is being pitched as a welcomed alternative to the Apple App Store – which notoriously puts applications through a strict vetting process before approving them to be sold online and requiring financial transactions to be done in-house. “Today, one of the most frustrating things for building apps are the constraints on what you can do and what you can sell,” said Leblond. “Developers create apps to put in Apple’s App Store only to have Apple stand between them and the customer while taking 30 per cent. We won’t get in the way of your app and your business model.” The Windows Store will let developers set their own prices for applications in a range from $1.49 to $999.99, and will also support free applications that make their money through advertising. Microsoft will take 30 per cent of the revenue from application sales, but after selling $25,000 worth of applications, the developer’s share will increase to 80 per cent

On Page SEO Factors to Not Forget
December 1, 2011 by publisher · Leave a Comment
One of the most basic things which a webmaster should understand is how to do on page SEO and the on page SEO factors to consider when both creating a new website or when adding new content and pages to an existing website. On page SEO predominantly pertains to tweaking your site’s code, choosing the right keywords, and optimizing your content overall to make it more attractive and identifiable to Google and other search engines’ web crawling bots so that they will in turn rank your site higher in the SERPs. Here I’ve expanded on the major techniques which you should implement on your site if you want to rank and rank well at that. Keep in mind that the weight which search engines place on these techniques is subjective as no one knows for sure the algorithms behind Google’s and other engine’s ranking practices. No one factor is ever been unanimously considered to be more paramount than all others, so don’t overlook any of these techniques. Most of them are quick and simple to implement, so there’s really no reason not to, either. Editor’s Note: For additional information on the techniques noted below, and in some cases an alternate viewpoint, read Jill Whalen’s article “16 SEO Tactics That Will NOT Bring Targeted Google Visitors” . Keyword On Page SEO Factors I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: keywords are the gateways to your site and they play a huge role in on page SEO. Once you know what is a good keyword and how to do keyword research, then you can find the keywords which you should be using for your on page SEO.

Finally… Google Analytics to Provide Real-Time Reporting
October 12, 2011 by creative · Leave a Comment
Like millions of other website owners, I use Google Analytics to analyze my website stats. And while I actually like GA a lot, it isn’t perfect. My biggest pet-peeve with the software is the fact it doesn’t provide real-time results. It has a lag time of at least an hour or two before you can view most of your data, and a full 24-hour lag time on full data reporting. With all the brilliant engineers Google employs, that particular flaw has never made any logical sense to me. That negative aspect of GA has been bugging the heck out of me for years. Well, finally, that’s all about to change and fast. How fast

Business owners are always looking to optimize advertising and use the best locations on the Internet. Ultimately, they need to measure whether the time and effort – and the money spent are worth it. Facebook is one of those prime Internet sites that is emerging as an attractive location for advertisers. With over 500 million active users – Facebook is a force to be reckoned with – and probably one worth considering for advertising your company’s goods and/or services. Let’s take a look at the dynamics of advertising on Facebook: First of all, it is a social media network that is made up mostly of family and friends so the information profile that is tied to each user should be fairly accurate. That makes it an ideal source to tap into targeted groups: by location, by age, and by gender. Targeted advertising can also be done based on users “Likes” or “Interests” because that is part of the user profiles. This makes it easy to target specific groups such as those that like basketball or ballet.
