New comScore Numbers Show Little Change in Search Engine Popularity

Microsoft continued to make incremental progress in the search engine competition in December 2009, according to the latest numbers released by analyst firm comScore. However, Google continued to assert its role as the alpha dog in search engines, accounting for 65.7 percent of all of the 14.7 billion searches conducted by Americans during the month. This marked an increase of 0.1 percent of market share over the previous month.
