Consider these when creating a domain name

Choosing a domain name for your business shouldn’t be that hard. But many struggle with it because there is so much confusing information out there. Here are few ideas that we picked up on the Internet.

  • Domain name should reflect what your business is. Because you will be using it in your promotional materials a lot.
  • Domain name should be easier to remember and one can type or spell it easily. Many customers who listen to the radio should be able to spell your domain name without having to see it spelled out. Stay away from confusing words such as “to” or “for.” It can be spelled “two” or “Four” when writing.
  • Most popular is “.com.” Some may say try to get something ending with “.tv” or “.org” to reflect the business you are in. But that may not be true when people try to remember your domain name and therefore, “.com” is the safest bet.
  • Some say you need to buy a domain name no more than six months old. They argue that recent domain names have gone through all checks and therefore, are more valuable or proven. This may be not true for many businesses and therefore, choosing your own unique domain name may be the best.
