Reasons Why Spamming is a Bad Idea For Businesses

April 3, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Spam is not appreciated in any form, and ever since it has been banned for not following good “netiquette”, there is even more reason why businesses should refrain from adopting such practices to get the word out about their products.

So here is a list of reasons why you should not spam, especially if you have business of your own:

Reason #1: Abuse

If you spam people, you can be sure that you will be the recipient of verbal abuse in the form of profanity and at its worst, even death threats as well.

Reason #2: Technological risk

Reasons Why Brands Fail on Twitter

March 22, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Every business or brand has heard about the power of social media.  And through this, they wish to advertise their products or services by harnessing its might. Yet so many brands are not successful in doing so because there are some basics that they have failed to grasp.

And while Twitter is considered a lost cause for businesses, there are ways by which you can get what you want by avoiding these common mistakes:

#1: Only focus on the product

If you are an established brand, then you can get attention easily, but if you are a struggling brand with little or no attention, then it might not be a wise idea to just talk about your product or service on Twitter. You will have to do a little more than that!

#2:  Inability or reluctance to answer questions

Whether these are hard questions or otherwise, it would be unrealistic to expect that people are going to be nice with you. Regardless of the question you are asked about your brand, be willing to answer them in time. Or else people will just lose interest.

#3: Reluctance or inability to accept mistakes

If a brand refuses to accept mistakes, it would be one of the reasons for you, your brand, or your business to fail. On the other hand, by merely accepting your mistakes, you will not only garner respect but a lot of acceptance from people who are not with you in the first place.

The Importance Of Digital Marketing

February 18, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Almost everyone is acquainted with the conventional forms of marketing and advertising which use mediums such as television, radio, the newspapers and magazines. And while this way of marketing has been used profitably, the internet is changing all this very quickly.

Looking at the way consumers use the internet for all of their needs these days, it only makes sense that companies carry out their promotions and also possess some Internet space in the form of a website so that they can provide information about their products and services.

And there are several companies with a youth as a target audience that only conduct their marketing through using social media and advertising over the web and most of all, employ search engine optimization strategies so that their products or services can be found as quickly as possible over the internet when people search for them using search engines.

And while the older forms of marketing are still beneficial, there is no doubt that using the internet as a method to market your product (also known as Digital Marketing) is turning out to be one of the most cost-effective and quickest way to reach your customers.

And one can attribute the emergence of digital marketing to the fact that almost everyone is switching to the internet for not only their entertainment but also for information as opposed to television and radio.

One way or another, digital marketing (still being a nascent field) will grow exponentially and soon outrun almost every conventional marketing method that exists shortly.

The case is also the same with businesses, as a lot of new entrepreneurs are investing online. This is because a lot of people nowadays choose shopping online rather than going out. They find it more advantageous for them to sit in front of their computer and click on the things that they need instead of wasting gas, energy and time going to a local grocery or retail store.

Because of this turn, it is obvious that online businesses are very promising. But what does it have to offer a business? One of the things that an online business could give businessmen is progressing profits, but this can only be achieved through proper internet marketing strategies. If a business has high traffic, there is a big chance that it could make a lot of sales, especially when it is combined with effective advertisements and reviews from other people.

Another thing that online businesses could offer entrepreneurs is increased safety. Currently, we are experiencing crisis and it is definite that a lot of people are desperate. Because of this, robberies and other bad things happen, and mostly, local retail stores are their targets. But with an online business, you can be assured that all transactions are safe for you and for your customer.

Finally, an online business gives a businessman a cheaper option to start a business. They do not have to rent or construct a place which is very costly. All they have to do is to register for an online domain and they could already start their business.

An Online Marketing Checklist

July 29, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

There are many reasons why an online business will fail. Here is a checklist that will help you identify some of those reasons.

· Don’t believe the hype – The general mantra in this instance is “If it is too good to be, then it is”. Don’t get involved in any business or programme that makes fantastic claims. One of the key questions you should ask such a place is “How can you guarantee the longevity and sustainability of this method?” The general answer you should get should be something along the lines of “multiple/varied streams of income”; if not, you are wasting your time there.

· Don’t be forced to buy in – Avoid any training programmes or marketing groups that insist on you making a purchase to enter. Usually these are their own training products or other materials related to the course. There are planet of free sites out there, so don’t waste your money.

· Connect with your sponsor – If the sponsor of your business is someone you can’t connect with, just walk away. It is your business so you have every right to do so. Staying with a incompatible sponsor will hurt your business more than you think.

· Spend more time learning – Whatever programme or course you join, give it the most attention. A half hearted approach will only waste your time.

· Do not rest on your laurels – When you achieve success do everything possible to continue it. Make the right contacts with industry leaders and always make sure you discuss upcoming trends and new business practices. In short, try to stay ahead of the game.

· What’s your goal? – “I want to be rich!” is not the goal to have; you have to be more specific. “I want to have 500 new leads in the next 2 months and I want to make $60,000 more than I did in the last three months” is more along the lines of what you should be looking at.

· Commitment – You can’t commit all your time to a business. However, you can’t neglect it either. So draw up schedule that will help you allocate time between your work and your family/ social life. Ensure that you are doing everything you should be doing for your business and that you do not fail to complete each days list of to-do’s.

July 20, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Without a doubt, online shopping has become very popular because a lot of people now consider the Internet safe for their shopping. We have to admit, that it is much easuer to go to your computer, sit down and browse through hundreds of products which are available over the web rather than go to the mall and spend on gas and travel time. This is the main reason why the success of e-commerce is undeniable.

Because a lot of businesses saw this opportunity, the number of online retail stores has grown at a very high rate than those of regular retail stalls in the mall. If you are one of those people trying to make it to the internet business, be reminded that you are not the sole seller over the web. Because of the potential market the Internet offers, the competition to get all of these markets has become high.

Any business with a lot of capital and a budget for a website can go into the e-commerce business. But because of the growing competition, a lot of people are not realizing the amount of time and effort they have to exert in order to survive the Internet business.

There is no question that the numbers are favoring those who are into the Internet business. Statistics have shown that in the past years, Internet sales have grown to approximately 27.5% from where it began.

Internet marketing has sky-rocketed and has become the number one choice of people and businesses on the go. If your business is into online selling, for it to be able to withstand the test of time, you have got to have two important tools: an effective plan of action and a quality internet marketing strategy.

The Best Tools You Will Ever Need for Internet Marketing

July 11, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

The Internet has become the playing ground for most businesses right now and in order for you to get a piece of the action, your business should be equipped with the best tools you can use for Internet marketing. There are a lot of businesses out there who have no clue of how doing business over the web goes. Most of them just make a website and just wait for things to happen after that. But the right way of executing this is not by building a website first but to concentrate on the business’ Internet marketing facet and just go with the flow. As of today, there are the best tools you can use to be successful with Internet marketing.

The first tool that you should be accustomed with is the Wordtracker. This is probably the best Internet marketing tool out there. With the Wordtracker, you can enter a keyword and the program gives you all of the phrases other businesses are using to go along with that keyword. The Wordtracker is a vital tool in your business because it gives you the information you need about a certain idea that you have, and it also tells you how tough the competition is when it comes to SEO. Another effective tool that you can use to succeed in Internet marketing is the article directory. Remember that in order for your business to succeed, you should be able to take advantage of free traffic as well as getting the desired publicity. The process is done by writing an article and putting it in the directory. Once the editors find your articles informative and interesting, they will post it in their websites and you get to create links which will redirect the readers into your sites, which equals publicity and traffic. There are a lot of Internet marketing tools out there, but most of them are not suitable for all businesses. The Wordtracker and article directories have proven over the years that they are still two of the most vital tools to make a business over the web profitable.
